These two-component (1:1 mix ratio) polyurethane and polyurea coatings encapsulate and provide superior hardness/impact resistance for lightweight fragile foam substrates. Our CHEMTHANE 7000 Series coatings will allow you to cut your fabrication production time compared to polyester fiberglass from days down to just hours.
CHEMTHANE “Hard Coats” are used around the world for protecting fragile foam architectural elements, props used in specialty themed fabrication, movie set production and point-of-purchase (POP) displays. To meet the challenges of these applications, our spray polyurethane and polyurea coatings offer numerous advantages over epoxies and polyester encapsulates.

Chemline offers spray-in-mold rigid polyurethanes, polyureas and hybrids that are used in environments that require superior hardness and crack resistance in a molded part application.
When used to replicate rock, sea corals or other natural surfaces, our CHEMTHANE 7400 Series spray-applied polyurethanes allows you to easily “wet-out” a latex and silicone mold to capture the slightest surface textures.
Plus, the CHEMTHANE 7400 Series will handle the rigors of water, thermal shock, freeze/thaw and ultraviolet light. These products are rigid polyurethanes hybrid polyureas with high flexural modulus (~120,000) with superior hardness and crack resistance for small and large part fabrication.
Fabricators use the CHEMTHANE 7400 Series to achieve faster mold turnover. When compared to polyester fiberglass or GFRC, CHEMTHANE 7400 Series will produce 10x more parts per mold in 24 hour period. The materials cure to the touch within 15 seconds. That means you can demold a part within a few minutes instead of hours compared to other systems.
CHEMTHANE 7446/7446FR is a 100% solids/zero VOC spray in mold hybrid polyurea for replicating parts. Finished parts exhibit a good balance of properties that include excellent stiffness, heat sag resistance and high impact resistance.
CHEMTHANE 7465 is a 100% solids/zero VOC spray in polyurethane for replicating parts in any open mold environment. Finished parts exhibit a good balance of properties that include excellent stiffness, heat sag resistance and high impact resistance. This product is commonly used to replication small automotive, non-structural parts. When used in combination with a high density polyurethane spray foam (CHEMFOAM 7920), this composite system offers high rigidity and structural strength.
CHEMTHANE 1600 (In-Mold Primer) is a single component spray in-mold primer for use with CHEMTHANE 7446 or 7465 during fabrication. This primer coat provides a stainable surface for molded parts.
CHEMTHANE 7070 is a solventless, fast cure polyurea with excellent tear and impact resistance. This coating is used as a spray-in-mold resin or as a rapid mold making material. It is also commonly used to make flexible molds and stamps for concrete production.
CHEMTHANE 7850/7850FR resins are unique elastomeric polyurethanes that are spray-applied in-mold to create the most realistic-looking and feeling tree bark in the fabrication industry. Within seconds, it is used to reproduce a sheet of lightweight flexible artificial bark that can easily cut, seamed and colored all in the same day. Conventional methods of artificial tree bark fabrication involve building elaborate substructures, applying heavy concrete, epoxy or polyester and spending hours carving a "tree-like" surface texture.
It will quickly wet out a bark mold within 25 seconds or less. This flexible resin allows you to create any size, shape or kind of tree imaginable. Once the finished "sheets" or bark are seamed and applied to a substructure, you can easily stain the bark surface to any color you desire. This process makes it convenient to create museum-quality trees for interior and exterior store displays, amusement parks, hotels, restaurants and any location requiring imitation trees.
