Chemline supplies coatings and linings for both aboveground and underground steel storage tanks. Several products can be applied in one-coat, direct to metal (DTM) applications. To speed production and shipment, Chemline’s coatings cure to the touch within a few minutes or just a few hours.
Underground - Exterior Tank Protection
CHEMTHANE 2240 is a solvent free, tar-free, two component polyurethane coating. This product has a very short reaction time and is therefore spray applied using plural component spray equipment. You can apply this product directly to surface prepared steel. Unlimited film builds may be achieved in a single coat multi-pass application. Cured films are free of pores.
Chemthane 2240 demonstrates an excellent balance of flexibility, impact strength, abrasion resistance and corrosion resistance.

Aboveground - Exterior Tank Protection
For these applications, we recommend our conventional airless-applied, acrylic polyurethanes: CHEMTHANE 3107 and CHEMTHANE 3300.

Internal Linings for Steel Tanks
CHEMLINER 4000 is a high solids, novolac epoxy lining. This product is self-priming and is applied to steel surfaces. It has excellent chemical resistance against jet fuel, wastewater, seawater, salt brine, sulfide gas, acid solutions, strong alkali solutions and many solvents. The high cross-link density of the product makes it suitable for immersion service in aggressive environments. Consult CHEMLINE before specifying. CHEMLINER 4000 is easy to apply using a brush, roller, conventional or airless spray equipment. This product is applied in a minimum of two coats (white coat and gray coat).
CHEMTHANE 4200PW (NSF/ANSI-61) is a solvent-free, two component polyurethane lining (1:1 spray ratio by volume). This product has a very short reaction time and is therefore spray applied using plural component spray equipment. Application of this product is made directly to surface prepared steel. Unlimited film builds may be achieved in a single coat multi-pass application. Once cured, Chemthane 4200PW forms a hard polymer film that demonstrates excellent adhesion. In addition, it is very resistant to abrasion, chemical attack, and cathodic disbondment.
EPO-LINE 171 is a virtually 100% solids ceramic reinforced epoxy formulated for the resurfacing and protection of metal surfaces subjected to extreme corrosive or fluid flow conditions. Apply in two coats to extend the wear life of plant equipment, providing a high gloss ceramic surface with superior resistance to corrosion and erosion. Epo-Line 171 may be applied by brush or roller. This is a versatile coating designed to provide excellent protection for equipment. It may be used to maintain operating tolerances of pump components. It is also a great choice for coating heat exchangers, hoppers, valve assemblies, water boxes, fans, housings, etc. Epo-Line 171 is a superior product when used as a tank lining.
